x Victoria Covers and Cancellations 1854 (24 July) envelope from Melbourne "p Norna Via Marseilles" to France, bearing 1854 imperf. 1/- cancelled by barred oval "1" and with Melbourne oval d.s. and "90" rate mark alongside, two French transit c.d.s. on reverse; the envelope and adhesive with faults though a very early franking of the 1/- stamp, issued only three weeks previously, and the first overseas mailing to use this adhesive. Also 1859 (Feb.) blue envelope "per Emue" from Melbourne to Germany, bearing Octagonal 1/- (cut-to-shape) cancelled with Barred Oval "1". Photo Estimate £ 180-200
