Charles I, group II, Halfcrown, 14.82g., Tower, type 2/1b mule, second horseman, king in armour with sword over his shoulder, on taller horse striding left, plume on horse´s head, rose on housing, reads MA BR FR ET HI, rev. lightly garnished square shield, large plume above, m.m. plume (JGB 297 (same dies); N.2204; S.2768) lightly double struck at 12 o´clock, otherwise an exceptional coin, almost as struck, and attractively toned, with traces of underlying silvery lustre, good very fine, a great rarity Estimate £ 3,000-4,000PROVENANCE: This coin first acquired by Seaby, 1981 Purchased M Rasmussen, October 2003 It is believed that this coin and its die duplicate, JGB 297, are the only two known examples of this type with m.m. plume
