Charles I, group III, Halfcrown, 14.29g., Tower under Parliament, type 3a3, late third horseman, king in armour holding sword upright, wearing cloak flying from shoulders, on unadorned horse striding left, horse´s head turned towards viewer, no ground below, reads MAG BRI FRA ET HIB, rev. oval garnished shield, m.m. (P) (cf. JGB 355; N.2213; S.2778) lightly double struck on both sides, from a clogged obverse die, otherwise very fine Estimate £ 100-120This coin is struck from an obverse die of good style, type 3a2, though there is no sign that the mintmark is an overmark. It was issued, presumably, early in the Parliamentary coinage.
