xHenry VI, first reign (1422-61), annulet issue, Noble, 6.96g., London, king standing facing in ship, holding sword and shield, annulet at sword arm, reads HIB, rev. floriated cross with lis at ends, h in centre, annulet in first spandrel, m.m. lis on reverse only (Whitton 1(b); Schneider -; N.1414; S.1799), a full round coin, good very fine, an excellent example of this rare early variety Estimate £ 1,200-1,500 Only the very earliest Henry VI annulet nobles read HIB, rather than HYB, and the existence of corrected dies, HYB>HIB, suggest that the variety was significant. Neither the Lockett nor the Schneider collections contain an example
