xNew Guinea 1914 (16 Dec.)-15 Stamps of German New Guinea overprinted "G.R.I." with value 5mm. or 51/2mm. apart 21/2d. on 20pf. ultramarine vertical pair, Setting V [10], the lower stamp with error surcharged "g.r.i./3d." with spacing 41/2mm. and struck slightly diagonally, unused with part original gum; the upper stamp with small thin, otherwise fine. The unique pair incorporating the "3d." error and almost certainly the rarest and most important item of all the "G.R.I." overprints. Holcombe Certificate (1999). Sc. 21, 21c; S.G. 21a, £21,000.
