xBatum Postcard Stamps — 35k. on Romanov 4k. red, unused without gum; trace of soiling at upper left, otherwise sound. A very rare stamp. Signed Bloch. Friedl Certificate (1983). Sc. 12; S.G. P2, £7,500 (on card). Photo Estimate £ 2,000-2,500 Note: When the 1919 (13 Apr.) stamps were issued, a similar 35k. surcharge was applied to stocks of various Russian postcards held by the Post Office. The majority of these had stamp impressions printed directly on to the card but there were also a few cards, originally intended for overseas mail, on which Russian 4k stamps had been affixed
