Estimate £ 300-400The Maundy service for 1953 took place in St. Paul´s Cathedral, London and this particular set was presented to Yeoman F. J. Humphrey, D.C.M. West Yorkshire Regiment who was present at this service. Sold with pictures of Yeoman F Humphrey in uniform on parade with the Golden Coach for the Coronation of King George VI in 1937, and with supporting notes and letters and a scrapbook of his time as a Yeoman of the Guard. Born on the 17th February 1891, F.J. Humphrey served time in India in the late 1920´s and was appointed as a Yeoman of the Guard in January 1936. . He lived in Wallington, Surrey, and served with the Queen´s Bodyguard until his death in the late 1960´s.
