Hong Kong Covers and Cancellations Branch Offices western branch: 1900 (26 May) envelope registered to Madagascar bearing 10c. purple on red (a second stamp torn off) tied by despatch c.d.s. with "R" in oval alongside and Mauritius registration oval; the reverse bears a superb strike of type B "W.B" c.d.s., the earliest recorded date with a slightly smudged strike of the double-boxed registered handstamp, which had been transferred to Kowloon at this time, a desirable cover.
