China Foreign Post Offices United States Post Office 1916 (31 Mar.) envelope (slightly reduced at side) registered to Rotterdam via U.S.A. bearing 1912-14 15c. tied by a fine strike of the type II registered oval with "R.D." in centre, the purple registration handstamp and boxed "released by the/british military authorities" alongside, the reverse with type V registered c.d.s. with New York and arrival datestamps; most unusual.
