China Foreign Post Offices French Post Office 1873-79, a group of covers with 1873 mourning envelope to Germany "via Marseilles" bearing 1871-76 80c. pale carmine strip of three (originally affixed over the edge of the envelope, now straightened for display) cancelled by "5104" lozenge with double-ring "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s. and boxed "PD" alongside; redirected on arrival and with a fine array of backstamps; 1877 mourning envelope to London (Per French Mail" bearing Ceres 15c. yellow-bistre with Peace and Commerce 25c. tied by "5014" lozenge and 1879 envelope to Kendal bearing 35c.
