China World War 2 Mail Censored Mail to Overseas Destinations 1942 (24 Mar.) stampless, air mail envelope registered from the Directorate General of Posts in Kunming to G.P.O. in London and sent by Chinese Government Air Mail "By B.O.A.C. to Lagos, Nigeria, via Calcutta & Cairo thence by P.A.A. to Lisbon and thence by B.O.A.C. to destination" and bearing "service des postes" handstamp in purple, Kunming registration label and censor handstamp with the despatch c.d.s. on the reverse; good to fine and scarce. Photo Estimate HK$ 1,500-2,000Note: From 2 March to 10 July 1942 the Air Mail service from China to England was suspended because of limited carrying capacity on the Cairo - Lagos section. From 20 March Chinese Government letters were accepted, but had to be suitably endorsed
