China Covers and Cancellations Airmails 1924 (12 May) the third trial flight from Moukden to Newchwang, a printed envelope addressed to F.G. Scale in Shanghai marked via aerial service and endorsed "Via Newchwang" in red ink, bearing airmail 15c. and, on the reverse, Junk 3c., both tied by Moukden despatch c.d.s. with the Newchwang transit on face date 13 May. Fine and a rare trial flight. Photo Estimate HK$ 15,000-20,000Little information is available for these flights; Starr devotes as much information as was available. The route was never officially established. It is believed that the planes left Moukden twice weekly, on Tuesday and Friday, at 8 a.m. for Newchwang, returning the same day at 4.30 p.m. The Post Office recieved the mail the day before the flight. The first trial flight recorded was Tuesday 6th May (postmarked 5th); second trial flight on Friday 9th May (postmarked 8th), the fourth trial flight was Friday 16th May (postmarked 15th) and the last recorded flight being Tuesday 20th May (postmarked 19th). This is a newly discovered example of the missing third trial flight of Tuesday 13th May (postmarked (12th)
