China Gold Yuan 1949 (21 Apr.) legal-size airmail envelope addressed to England bearing $1000 on $10 Transportation (corner block of 20) and Dah Tung Sun Yat Sen $500 (2) and $1000 (20, some under surcharge block and not cancelled) tied by Hankow c.d.s. This is believed to be the earliest of the few extant covers bearing the Hankow Transportation issue used within the last formal Gold Yuan rate period (17-29 April), followed by the introduction of foreign mail rates in Silver Yuan.
