A Plaid Brooch of the Queen´s Own Highlanders A Bandsman´s brooch, with gilt metal quoit 31/2in. diameter mounted with a princely coronet above the cypher F, tablet inscribed ALAMEIN above the Sphinx, within an oakleaf wreath, all in frosted white metal See illustration Estimate £ 40-60The gilt metal quoit indicates that this brooch was for a member of the Military Band. The regiment´s pipers wore white metal brooches.
