An Officer´s Plaid Brooch of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders A very fine silver quoit by Marshall & Sons, 87 George St, Edinburgh (HM 1882), 3 1/8in. diameter, with bosses and Celtic decoration in low relief including the coronet and cypher of Princess Louise, Cat, Boar´s Head and four-part title-scroll See illustration Estimate £ 300-400The hallmark date indicates that this brooch was one of the earliest examples to be produced for officers of the newly-amalgamated Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
