An Officer´s Plaid Brooch of the 91st Highlanders A massive disc by Marshall & Sons, 87 George St, Edinburgh, 4in. diameter in white metal, finely engraved with thistles, a scroll inscribed XCI ARGYLLSHIRE and nine battle honours to PENINSULA, good amber-coloured quartz or facetted glass ornament, the reverse engraved with initials H.T.C.D.in script See illustration Estimate £ 300-400The initials are those of Hugh T Cunningham Dealtry, who served with the 91st from 1864-69. The regiment had become Highlanders in 1863.
