(1871-1965), fourth son of Sir William Leyland Feilden, Third Baronet of Feniscowles, County Lancaster, educated Charterhouse and Sandhurst; joined the 52 Regiment, The Oxfordshire Light Infantry 1892; Adjutant 1896-1900, served in the Mohmand and Tirah Expeditions 1897-98, and was involved in the action on 30.12.1898 when the withdrawing piquets were nearly overwhelmed by the Afridis; Captain 1900; served with the 43 Regiment in South Africa 1901-02 (Mentioned in Despatches 29.7.1902; Order of Osmanieh 1901); joined the Egyptian Army 1903; served in operations against Nyam Nyams, Sudan, 1904-05; Civil Administrator Port Sudan 1905-08 (Order of the Medjidieh 4th Class 1906); Assistant Civil Secretary, Sudan Government 1908-10; Major 1911; Governor and Officer Commanding Bahr-El-Ghazal Province and District 1910-17; commanded operations against Agadir (Agaakir) Dinkas, Sudan, 1913 (Order of the Medjidieh 3rd Class 1913); Lieutenant Colonel 1914 (Order of the Nile 3rd Class 1915 and Mentioned in Despatches 1914-18); Civil Secretary Sudan Government 1917-21 and commanded the Nyma Patrol 1917-18; promoted Pasha in Egyptian Army 1920 (Order of the Nile 2nd Class 1921); Lieutenant Colonel Feilden retired in 1921.
