Korea, Grand Cordon of the Order of The Golden Measure Set of Insignia, Badge, 108mm. including plum flower suspension x 76mm., silver-gilt and enamel, Star, 85mm., silver, silver-gilt and enamel, with engraved characters on reverse, good very fine, of the highest rarity (2) Estimate £ 20,000-30,000The Kumchok Tae-hunjang, or Grand Cordon of the Order of the Golden Measure, was established by Imperial Decree of Emperor Kwang Mu, 17.4.1900, on the 50th Anniversary of Korean independence. It was the supreme order of the Empire and was normally bestowed upon members of the Imperial Family as well as foreign Sovereigns and Princes. It was accompanied by a gift of up to 2,000 won or an annuity of up to 1,000 won. It corresponds to the Collar of the Japanese Order of the Chrysanthemum.
