W,H, Brind. 1st Bengal Fusrs.); China 1856-60, no clasp, unnamed, minor edge bruising, therefore good very fine (2) Estimate £ 450-500Lieutenant Colonel William Henry Brind; served as Midshipman Royal Navy, throughout the Persian Campaign (1857) and was present at the landing under heavy fire in Hallulah Bay, the taking of the Bushire Forts, the bombardment, storm and capture of Bushire and Malongah (wounded), also present at the battle of Kooshab and the bombardment of Mohumrah (entitled to Medal and clasp); in the same year he was also actively engaged in several boat expeditions in the Canton River and the North Coast of China; transferred Ensign 1st Bengal European Fusiliers 1857; and served in the Indian Mutiny (1857-59), present in the actions of Barree and Kentour, the engagement with and capture of 5 guns from the Nusseerabad Brigade, and at several other actions in Oude; Lieutenant 1858; served with the 11th Punjab Infantry in the China War (1856-60), and was engaged in the defence of Canton and in 1861 the defences of Shanghai and Woosung; Captain 1868; Major 103rd Royal Bombay Fusiliers, 1879; retired Lieutenant Colonel 1881.
