A Plaid Brooch of the Royal Scots A fine and rare example, probably for the Pipe Major of a Territorial battalion, the 33/4in. diameter silver-plated voided disc with engraved border, mounted with a Thistle star displaying St. Andrew in the centre above a scroll inscribed THE ROYAL SCOTS, all in white metal, within a finely-chased thistle wreath (backing to St Andrew possibly originally enamelled) See illustration Estimate £ 200-300
