A Japanese Army Officer´s Shin-gunto An unusual sword, with good 271/4in. pre-war fullered blade, the tang, possibly shortened, bearing no signature and with two mekugi-anas approximately one inch apart, pierced bronze or brass tsuba of regulation Army style, with two dai-seppa, all stamped en suite 130 and retaining some gilding, regulation rayskin grip with tsuka-ito, spring-clip and well-detailed metal fittings, brown braid saru-te with blue lining, in its massive khaki-painted steel scabbard with brass mounts and fitted brown leather cover Estimate £ 350-400
