BURMA British Civil Administration 1946 (2 May) Victory Issue The set of four, hand-perforated and trimmed by scissors, affixed to Official card marked "proposed designs submitted for approval", signed by the Artist Engraver and Master, Security Printing, India and dated "21.8.45". Very rare Estimate £ 200-250 Note: The Japanese surrendered on 15 August 1945. Six days later these proofs were prepared. They were sent to London on 1 September for Royal approval which was given on 13 October. The stamps were issued on 2 May and after they were on sale for eight weeks they were called "Victory" stamps on 28 June
