BURMA World War II Postal History 1940-42 selection of unstamped covers (6), comprising 1940 (Feb.) and 1941 (Jan.) both showing fine strikes of the boxed "on duty/ex. bty. area" cachet in violet of the Rangoon Examination Battery, 1941-42 (3) each showing different triangular-framed "f.s./free" handstamps, one with pencil notation "The last mail to leave Rangoon from a soldier in the Cameronians", 1942 (June) marked "On Active Service", put in to the civil post office at Kohima without postage stamps and with Kohima Postage Due handstamp, the mistake corrected at Calcutta with two strikes of the "treat as prepaid/and deliver free./calcutta g.p.o." handstamp, and a similar handstamp on 1942 (July) envelope from the same correspondence
