Waterloo 1815 (Mathew O´Meara.....2nd Batt. 44th Reg. Fo..), edge details worn, bruising and contact marked overall, fair (as often noted, the junior rank of Drummer has been erased), with heavy ring and pin suspension and shaped silver riband bar Estimate £ 1,200-1,400 Sergeant Mathew O´Meara, born Bridport, Dorset, enlisted in the 44th Regiment 22.4.1809 aged 14; he is shown on the muster rolls under Drummers and Fifers and as Drummer serving in Captain Bostock Jacob´s Company in the Waterloo campaign; Private 1819; Sergeant 1825; Sergeant O´Meara died at Cawnpore 13.6.1829.
