Four: Private W.B. Owen, Essex Regiment General Service 1918-62, G.VI.R., one clasp, Palestine (6011087 Pte. W.B. Owen. Essex. R.); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star with 8th Army Bar; War Medal, extremely fine (4) Estimate £ 400-500 Private William Botley Owen was killed in action during the attack on El Duda 26.11.1941, aged 33 years, and is buried in Tobruk War Cemetery. Captain J.J.B. Jackman, The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, was also killed in action on El Duda 26.11.1941; Jackman was awarded the Victoria Cross posthumously for his bravery the day before, on 25.11.1941
