Five Military etc, Swords A 1796-pattern Infantry Officer´s sword with straight 32in. fullered blade, gilt-brass folding guard, knucklebow and pommel, wire-wound grip (lacking quillon, no scabbard); a post 1831 Staff Officer´s sword with 321/2in. fullered blade, brass (originally gilt) guard, wire-bound fishskin grip and original sword-knot (lacking scabbard); a Rifles Officer´s sword with 33in. slightly-curved blade and regulation hilt, complete with steel scabbard; a Victorian infantry-officer´s levée weight sword with narrow 32in. fullered blade etched with foliate decoration and VR cypher, and brass Gothic hilt (traces of gilding remaining), in its plated scabbard; and a small sword with 283/4in. blade of hollow-triangular cross-section, steel knucklebow and wire-wound grip (no scabbard) (5) Estimate £ 200-300
