Indo-Parthian, Abdagases (c. A.D. 55-65), Base AR Tetradrachm, mounted figure right, before Gondopharan tamgha, baÓIËevontoÓ baÓiËeùn abÄaÃacoy, rev. Kharosthi legend around Zeus standing right holding long sceptre, control mark left and Kharosti letters sam pra right (Mitch.1121c; MAC.2587; Senior 228.55T), good very fine, ruler´s name clear, scarce in this condition Estimate £ 160-200 Senior (“From Gondophares to Kanishka”, Glastonbury, 1997) proposes that Abdagases governed Gandhara c. 5 BC – AD 19 as a successor of Gondophares I. He was then ousted from his position by Gondophares-Sases in AD 19.
