India/Iran, Nadir Shah, (ruler in Iran 1736-47) Rupi (10-Shahi), 11.32g., date not visible, Sind, couplet giving ruler's nam (off-flan) and titles, rev. name of mint in circular central panel (c.f. KM.385 (Iran): Whitehead 37), two test punches on obverse, fine, extremely rare Estimate £ 120-150 Sind ceded to Nadir Shah in 1740, and Rupis of this type are known for dates AH1153-60, as they were also issued by his son Taimur, who administered the area. Whitehead (Catalogue of Coins in the Punjab Museum, Vol.III, 1934) says that they were not struck in Sind.
