William and Mary, Halfcrown, 1689, first busts, with filled E giving an inverted F in legend, rev. second shield, caul only frosted, pearls, (ESC 509B R3; S.3435), adjustment marks on cheek very fine, ESC indicates the variety as inverted F but this is clearly a filling of the letter E and very interesting and unusual, one of only two specimens we have encountered Estimate £ 600-800
