Edward IV, second reign (1471-83), Angel, 5.18g., type XVI, London, St. Michael standing slaying the dragon, trefoil after franc, rev. ship bearing shield and cross, E and rose at sides, reads redempt, small saltire stops on obverse only, m.m. cross with pellet in each angle (Schneider 462 (same dies); N.1626; S.2091), very small nick on edge at 11 o´clock, otherwise as fresh as struck, almost extremely fine, a very rare and distinctive mintmark Estimate £ 1,200-1,500 Of the fifteen known angels of type XVI, six are in the British Museum collection
