Signed Sketch by J.B. Carpeaux. Rough ink sketch drawn on a small quarto-size sheet clipped from an Autograph Letter Signed by Carpeaux. Possibly an idea for a sculpture. Artist-sculptor Jean-Baptiste. Carpeaux (1827-1875) enjoyed popularity during the French Second Empire and was noted for sculpture groups such as La Danse, Ugolin et ses fils, Le Triomphe de Flore; and for his portrait busts. Some soiling and internal tear within drawing, otherwise Fine. Mounted and matted, 11 ½ x 14".
