1856-58 LC 14 1d. pale red, SD, tied on entire by a fine strike of "calton/glasgow" open c.d.s. dated 1858 (6 Aug.), inscribed "On H.M. Service" and "Soldiers Letter" in manuscript, addressed to London, endorsed "Ov 1/2oz" and "2" in manuscript with blue straight-line "more to pay" and red circular "more to pay/i" adjacent; fine, attractive and most unusual.
