1841 1d. unplated, AB, margins all round, on entire letter to Oxford dated 9 October 1841, tied by fine light strike of a fine though unidentifiable boxed handstamp (check with Wil & Jay), the reverse with fair circular undated "alton" and Oxford arrival c.d.s.; adhesive with minor surface scrapes though still fine, attractive and most unusual.
