LOCAL PENNY POST AND RECEIVING HOUSES 1840 1d. plate 1a, DK, margins nearly all round (ragged and touched in places on two sides), on large piece tied by fine light strike of the red ”Shefford/Penny Post”, the piece showing fine red Biggleswade double-arc d.s. of 5 July 1840; fine, rare and attractive.
