Mementoes of The Kaiser's Aeronautical Club A small badge, with the Club device of the Black Eagle superimposed on crossed propellers, with initials K, C and Æ in the angles, in enamel, between pressed-metal wings plated with frosted silver; another badge with the Club device within a gilding metal scroll; and a smaller version of the device within a spray of oak and bay leaves in gilt metal on dark blue cloth, the metal backing stamped DRGM 492612; together with a copy of Deutschlands Eroberung der Luft, by Herman Montanus, published 1915, 112 pages, 101/2 in. x 73/4 in., 18 of them text (in Gothic script), the remainder with photographs of German military aviation, visits by the Kaiser and other members of the Imperial family, personalities, ballooning, aerial views, Zeppelins, aeroplanes, co-operation with the Navy, spectacular crashes, manufacturing, and other activities; and a postcard, bearing stamp and franked with Osnabruck postmark (date undecipherable), bearing a picture signed HANS RUDOLF SCHULZE, depicting a German biplane with Maltese Cross insignia on the wings, and a monoplane in the distance, over a wintry landscape (5) Estimate £ 150-180 Examples of the Kaiser's Aeronautical Club device worn as a cap-badge are on Pages 31, 61 and 80 of this book.
