Mementoes of Aviation Events A programme of the Bournemouth International Aviation Meeting held at Southbourne Aerodrome 6-16 July 1910, with colour illustration on front cover, the back cover printed with a map of the Bournemouth area, fourteen pages inside, with lists of patrons and officials, details of nineteen competitors (including Cody, Grahame-White, Moore-Brabazon and Rolls), and their aircraft, a plan of the airfield, list of events, signals, prizes and World Records as at June 1910 (all then held by the Farman biplane); and a Souvenir Programme for the Great Air Race of 22nd July 1911 on folded card (now split in two), listing thirty competitors and their aircraft, and details of the 1011-mile course (2) Estimate £ 80-120 The Hon. C.S. Rolls, the car manufacturer, was killed at the Bournemouth meeting while practising for a spot-landing competition. Shortly before the meeting he had become the first man to fly the English Channel both ways non-stop.
