Waterloo 1815 (Anthony Dunn. 2nd Batt Grenad. Guards.), with original clip and ring suspension, mint state, extremely rare thus, in a contemporary red leather case Estimate £ 3,000-3,500 Private Anthony Dunn from Queens Coolbannagher, enlisted at London in 1809 and joined Lieutenant Colonel Jones' Company, the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards; served in the 2nd Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Cooke's Company, at Waterloo, and was wounded 16.6.1815; Private Dunn died 18.4.1816; his Waterloo prize money was paid to his widow, Margaret Ford, in November 1820; his Waterloo Medal, which was clearly never worn by the recipient, is one of the finest examples we have seen.
