A "Battle of Britain" Group of Three to Air Gunner Sergeant P.R. Prosser, R.A.F.V.R. 1939-45 Star, Battle of Britain bar; Air Crew Europe Star, Atlantic bar; War Medal, extremely fine with original named medal enclosure slip and letter from R.A.F. Record Office confirming the issue to Prosser's son, also sold with copy of Squadron Records (3) Estimate £ 600-800 755800 Sergeant Percy Rollo Prosser, from Quinton, Birmingham was called up on September 1939, completed his training and was posted to 235 Squadron, Coastal Command, R.A.F.V.R.; during the Battle of Britain he flew with 235 Squadron over Holland and was engaged in convoy protection and reconnaissance missions over the North Sea; Sergeant Prosser along with Pilot Officers Coggins and Sadley took off from Bircham Newton at 3.35pm 16.12.1940 to act as Escort for Minelayers; The Squadron's Operations Records report that 'Pilot Officer Coggins crashed in sea at 18.15 cause unknown', and both Pilot Officer Sadley and Sergeant Prosser were lost.
