Evans, Rl Candn: Regt), extremely fine Pair: Lieutenant A.V. Evans, Saskatchewan Regiment British War and Victory Medals (Lieut. A.V. Evans), extremely fine (3) Estimate £ 420-450 Private A.G. Evans Royal Canadian Regiment, was wounded at Florida, South Africa, 29.5.1900 M.C. London Gazette 19.8.1916, Lieutenant, C.M.R., 'For conspicuous gallantry and determination. During a heavy bombardment he was ordered to retire with a few men and hold a strong point. He was wounded on his way, but managed to get there and hold his own until relieved. His determined stand ensured the retention of this strong point throughout the operations.' (Somme).
