Egypt, 'Abd al-Hamid II, 100 Qirsh (1 Pound), AH 1293, yr.8, Misr, 8.52g. (F.18 (not priced, "rare"); KM.285 (not priced, "rare"), Schl.1595 (not priced)) very fine, the date exceedingly rare Estimate £ 2,000-3,000 100 Qirsh coins (gold Pounds) with the accession year AH1293 exist for both Murad V and 'Abd al-Hamid II. The issues are often confused because of their similarity. Although Murad V only reigned for three months, his coins are surprisingly much more common than that of his younger brother who succeeded him. Coins of 'Ab al-Hamid II struck with the regnal years 1 and 4 are scarce, and four examples are known of year 6. The remaining years are all extremely rare.
