†Danish Administration, Treasury issue, 6 1/4 Rigsdaler, St. Croix, 4 September 1784, serial number 25746, black text on cream card-like paper, ornate value in scroll work at left, five manuscript signatures below, two embossed seals top left and right, reverse text with St. Croix and manuscript date, various manuscript signatures (PA.1), thinned at centre and damage centre top left and right but not unpresentable, the paper retaining body. This is the earliest recorded note from the Danish West Indies and as such excessively rare. Important. Estimate £ 5,000-6,000
