A Georgian Sword of Loyal Volunteers With slightly-curved, double-fullered blade (closely resembling Robson Fig. 56) etched with foliate decoration, GR cypher, Trophy and Horseman, now shortened to 27 1/2 in., gilt-brass knuckle-bow guard somewhat as Infantry officer's 1786 Pattern but without beads, "cushion" pommel and bone or ivory grip (slightly chipped) fitted with a gilt metal band with oval cartouche engraved with Crown above a (?) sextant and inscription LOYAL VOLUNTEERS (repairs/modifications to side-bar of guard, scabbard missing) See illustration Estimate £ 100-150
