London Gazette 11.11.1859 George Richardson, Private, 34th Regt Citation states 'At Kewarie Trans-Gogra, on the 27th April, 1859, for determind courage in having, though severely wounded-one arm being disabled-closed with and secured a rebel sepoy armed with a broad revolver.' Sergeant George Richardson V.C., born 1831, Derrylane, Killashandra, County Cavan, Ireland; died 1923, London, Ontario, Canada.
