Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate 1a CC, good to large margins, on attractive pale pink envelope addressed to Petworth, tied by very fine strike of the red Maltese Cross, the reverse showing very fine strike of the black London c.d.s. for 10 May 1840 (first Sunday in May); fine, extremely attractive and exceedingly rare so fine.
