William I, two sceptres type, Penny, 1.24g., type IV, Taunton, Brihtric, crowned and diademed bust facing between two sceptres, rev., cross fleury over saltire botonné, brfntric on tant (BMC 276; N.844; S.1253), a deep black tone, lightly burnished and with some surface scratches, otherwise about very fine, very rare of Taunton, possibly only two others known Estimate £ 300-400 provenance:
