Guadeloupe, British administration, 9 Livres, (1811), the square centre cut from an 1809 Mexico 8 Reales, countermarked on both sides with a crowned G in rectangular indent with cut corners, 24.05 g. (Pr. 2), coin and countermarks very fine, an excellent example Estimate £ 300-350 This crowned G series of Guadeloupe is notoriously hard to determine official coins, but the countermark with a tiny flaw at 7 o´clock identifies it as an undoubtedly official coin.
