Chesapeake, Ohio and Southwestern Railroad Co. Certificate, 188x. Unissued. No. 276. Signed by Collis P. Huntington in black ink. Industrialist, philanthropist and railway magnate, Collis Potter Huntington (1821-1900) was one of the founding partners of the Central Pacific Railway. He also helped lead and develop other major lines such as the Southern Pacific Railroad, and the Chesapeake and Ohio; and made substantial contributions to the Tuskegee and Hampton Institutes. Upon his death, Huntington's entire art collection was left to the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Steam locomotive at station vignette, green borders. Extremely Fine.
