Great Britain. Royal Humane Society Medal. Bronze (LIEUT. H.V. SEDDALL. R.N.R. 7TH NOV. 1916).
Lieutenant Harry Vernon Seddall, RNR, attempted to rescue a deckhand who had fallen off a mooring buoy into the harbor at Sheerness, north Kent, but after being pulled under twice by the struggling man, Seddall lost him and was taken out unconscious. Seddall, himself, was later lost at sea, July 4, 1930.
