Britannia seated left, 1788 in exergue, edge straight grained, 3.55g, 12h (Crowther -; Renotiere -; Montagu -; Murdoch III, 242[a]; Selig - [cf. 1230 same dies]; Mitchell-David 518; Bole 1740 this coin; W&R 151 [recte, grained edge]; Bull 2217 [R5]; ESC 1643 [R6]; Spink -), slightly creased, otherwise residually brilliant and accentuated with flares of reddish-blue, almost very fine, excessively rare in this metal and unknown to Crowther, Montagu, Renotiere and Selig, and one of three available to discerning type collectors, in NGC holder, graded XF Details ~ Bent (Cert. #6295540-001)
