Chile. Republica. Boton monetario, ca. 1820-1830s. Large 38mm button emulating an 1817 Peso, with a very small pillar festooned with a lozenge shaped device before the globe. Heavily silver-plated and shanked removed, these pieces were passed off as money in the early period of the Republic. Burzio 21, Herrera 1174, Yriate (1st edition) 822. Shank removed, light test scratches. VF-EF.
